ABOUT ALUMINIUM DOORS
Aluminium is a good conductor of heat (ie a poor insulator). Aluminium doors need to incorporate a thermal break plastic insert which reduces the amount of heat transmitted to the outside of the building. This helps reduce the risk of condensation forming on the insides of aluminium doors in cold weather. Since the late 1980s, aluminium door frames are usually fitted directly into openings, instead of requiring timber sub-frames. The normal finish for aluminium doors is a white polyester powder coating, which is durable and needs no maintenance other than washing. Other colours are available for aluminium doors.

Trade Conservatories 2 U: Aluminium Doors. Trade Conservatories 2 U supplies aluminum doors in thermally broken aluminium extrusion which are made to measure and delivered across the mainland UK. Its aluminium doors are available in a choice of over two hundred colours and may be provided with multiple panels. It can also supply aluminium french doors and folding sliding patio doors to provide unobstructed openings of up to six metres.
Anglia Fixing is a leading supplier of aluminium doors. Doors may be provided partly or fully glazed, or with louvered sections. To provide strength, its aluminium doors have torsion bars, and are jointed with screws or bolts. This makes it possible to replace individual sections of the door on site if repairs are required. When automatic operation is required, the top section of the door is enlarged to accommodate the equipment.
Duration of Canvey Island, Essex, manufactures a range of aluminium doors, including single leaf aluminium doors, patio doors, and bi-fold doors. The bi-fold doors are suitable for wide openings, with five or more leaves. These are flexible in use; a single leaf can be opened, or the whole bi-fold door can be folded back in concertina fashion, to give a large clear opening.
