ABOUT CERAMIC FLOOR TILES

Ceramic floor tiles are, like roof tiles, usually made from Etruria marl clay. Firing to 1130 degrees centigrade produces sufficient vitrification to limit water absorption to less than 3%, thus giving a highly durable chemical and frost resistant ceramic floor tile.

Where high slip resistance is required a studded profile can be supplied, or carborundum can be added to the finish. Special ceramic floor tiles include coving, internal cove angle, external cove angle, and step tread floor tiles. Ceramic floor tiles are available in a wide range of colours and decorative finishes.
