Grey concrete paving slabs are manufactured from Portland cement mixes, with pigments added to produce the standard buff, pink and red colours. Standard sizes for concrete paving include 900mm x 600mm, 750mm x 600mm, and 600m x 600m, all 50mm thick. A wide range of smaller and thinner concrete paving units is available for the home improvement market, including 600m x 600mm, 600mm x 450mm, 450mm x 450mm and 400m x 400mm. These concrete paving slabs are 40mm or 30mm thick. Thicker concrete paving units (65mm and 70mm) are manufactured to withstand light vehicular traffic. Plain pressed slabs may have slightly textured surfaces, whilst cast concrete paving slabs are available with smooth, simulated riven stone, terrazzo or textured finishes.
