UK: Cork Flooring & Suppliers

ABOUT CORK FLOORING

Cork is a natural and renewable product. It is harvested from the bark of the cork oak tree without damaging or chopping down the tree, making it an environmentally friendly product. Cork oak trees live for 150 to 200 years; once the tree is 30 years old its bark can be harvested every nine years.

Cork contains numerous cork cells, each operating as a small sound and thermal insulator, as well as a miniature absorber of pressure and shocks. It regains its shape no matter how much it is walked on, and regardless of how long furniture stands upon it. It provides a flooring which reduces sound, is warm to the touch, and is comfortable to walk on.

Cork flooring is available as natural cork, or stained in a variety of colours. It can be supplied with natural finish, or with acrylic, hard wax, or PVC finish. The latter is the most durable.
