ABOUT INTERNAL DOORS
There are three main types of internal door: flush doors, solid timber doors, and moulded doors. Flush doors have plywood surfaces and a core to provide soundproofing. Solid timber doors may be constructed of hardwood or softwood, and typically have a frame with panels. Moulded doors are manufactured from medium density fibreboard, or similar material, with a smooth surface. Moulded doors can be made in shapes that mimic solid wood doors, but inevitably have a somewhat artificial appearance. However, moulded doors do perform well in terms of sound transmission and stability.
