ABOUT POLYCARBONATE SHEET & ROOFING
Polycarbonate roofing is made from a transparent, extremely tough, plastic sheet. It is used for security glazing, and also as an insulating, light, roofing panel. Polycarbonate roofing is available as a double-walled or tripe-walled sheet, typically 10 mm or 16 mm thick. Polycarbonate roofing does not present a fire hazard, as it has low ignitability and low flame spread. It releases little heat and little smoke if burnt. Polycarbonate roofing can be coated to resist damage from ultraviolet light.
Polycarbonate sheet and roofing is not prone to discolouration so much as surface erosion due to weathering. This leads to loss of surface gloss, and reduction of clarity of transmitted images. Polycarbonate sheeting and roofing has relatively good retention of impact resistance and dimensional stability on weathering. Surface coated varieties provide significantly enhanced weatherability.
