Roof waterproofing systems are normally applied in the form of a liquid to flat roofs and balconies. For example, Polyroof supplies a range of cold applied, liquid roofing solutions. Reinforced flexible resin systems are available for new roofs, roof replacement, over-decking and overlaying. Their Elastex Balcony System for roof waterproofing is a cold, liquid-applied system designed for long term waterproofing of balconies and walkways with light and medium use. Elastex roof waterproofing is a moisture activated, low VOC polyurethane coating system that offers good UV resistance. Slip resistance and surface wear resistance are provided by aluminium oxide grits. EBS bonds to existing substrates, forming a strong system of roof waterproofing.
An example of hot melt roof waterproofing is Permaquik, supplied by Radmat. It is a hot melt bitumen waterproofing suitable for new build and refurbishment projects. It is a bonded membrane, with reinforcement, that is applied hot. The effect of load is to seal the membrane more strongly.
