ABOUT BLOW IN INSULATION
Blow in insulation, sometimes known as loose fill insulation, is blown into cavities in walls or on attic floors. It is the main alternative to using rolls or panels (batts) of insulation. Unlike rolls or batts it can be blown into existing wall cavities. It can also be blown into awkwardly shaped areas around corners and edges of attics.
Two types of material are commonly used for blow in insulation: fiber glass and cellulose. Cellulose is typically made from recycled newspaper, to which a fire retardant such as boric acid is applied.
