ABOUT CARPETS
The most expensive type of carpet is the Woven Carpet. This is produced on a loom similar that used for woven cloth, and has a cut pile. the process can produce intricate patterns from prepared designs.
The more common and cheaper type of carpet is the Tufted Carpet, which is produced on a tufting machine. Colored yarn may be used, or the carpet may be made using non-colored yard with the carpet being dyed subsequently. Tufted carpets can be cut pile, loop pile, or a combination of cut and loop pile. The third main type of carpet is Needlefelt. This is produced by the electrostatic attraction of individual synthetic fibres. The process produces a very durable carpet, often used in areas of heavy wear such as hotels. Carpets can be made from Wool, Nylon, Polypropylene, or Polyester, or combinations thereof.
