ABOUT DOG FENCING
There are two main types of dog fencing: physical dog fencing, and electrical dog fencing.
Physical dog fencing is usually made from netting made of galvanized steel wire or plastic. It is held in place with uprights and wire or steel railings. Physical dog fencing is usually colored black or dark green to make it as invisible as possible. Conventional types of garden fencing, including aluminum fencing, may also be used as dog fencing. Aluminum fencing is usually powder coated, and available in white and a range of dark colors. This provides a maintenance-free finish. Various heights are available; styles include exposed vertical pickets and smooth top railings.
Electrical dog fencing involves a battery-powered transmitter attached to the dog, and a transmitter. In some cases there is a need for a buried wire around the designated area. If the dog crosses the boundary, it receives a mild electrical shock, or hears a tone. After a while, most dogs learn not to cross the boundary.
