ABOUT GARDEN GATES

Popular types of garden gates include: Iron Garden Gates, Aluminum Garden Gates, and Wood Garden Gates.

Iron garden gates are normally made of steel, but are designed to resemble traditional wrought iron fencing. They can be combined with iron garden fencing, which is normally supplied as panels, about three feet square, with a spear post at one end which can be driven down into the ground.

Aluminum garden gates are normally powder coated, giving a maintenance-free finish, and are available in a range of colors. Some designs have exposed vertical pickets; others have a smooth top rail. Aluminum garden fencing is made up of cast upright pickets and horizontal rails. These are supplied as pre-fabricated panels, for attachment to upright aluminum fence posts.

Wood garden gates may be made of Western Red Cedar, of more durable hardwoods such as Ipe and Teak. They are available in wide variety of solid and slatted designs, with curved or straight tops.
