ABOUT GROW LIGHTS & LIGHTING
Grow lights are lights for indoor hydroponic gardening. Two main types of grow light bulb are available: Metal Halide and HPS. Flourescent lights may also be used. The main parts of a grow light system are the reflector, the bulb, and the ballast equipment which is needed to connect the system to the mains electrical supply.
Reflectors, which have the appearance of an industrial hanging lamp shade, are usually made out of powder coated steel, with an aluminium reflective insert. They are designed to allow the passage of air for cooling.
Light movers are electric motors which enable the grow lights to move within the growing room. This eliminates the tendency of plats to grow toward the light source, and provides light to areas that would otherwise be shaded.
