ABOUT SECURITY SHUTTERS
Security Shutters may be built into new buildings, or fitted to existing buildings. The most usual type is the roller security shutter, with horizontal interlocking slats that roll up into a box at the top of the window. In new construction the box can be concealed within the wall. The slats are usually made of aluminum, which may be foam-filled.
Manual and electrical control is available, with remote control, timers, and weather sensors. Another type of security shutter is the Accordion Security Shutter; this comprises vertical interlocked slats, which slide to the sides of the window. In addition to providing security, rolling and accordion shutters improve heat insulation, and protect the main windows from weathering and fading.
