USA: Trash Compactors: Trash Compactor Manufacturers

ABOUT TRASH COMPACTORS

Residential trash compactors are household appliances, normally placed under a countertop, which compress household trash to about one quarter of its normal volume. This makes trash easier to handle, and enables more trash to be put into a bin. Free-standing portable trash compactors are also available; these can be placed in a garage or utility room.

Trash compactors have a strong steel trash bucket or drawer, which is lined with a plastic bag before use. The trash is compressed by a compressor plate, which is normally driven down by an electric motor. Some trash compactors have a feature when keeps the trash compressed even when the trash compactor is switched off. This avoids the trash re-expaning.

Trash compactors are particularly useful in areas where there is a limit imposed the amount of trash bins which will be emptied.
